This weekend’s designs were delayed by napping with my old guy and thinking about absurdism. As a philosophical concept it proposes the human world is actually irrational as a base state. This is the thinking behind beliefs and quotes that suggest blissful ignorance, but I don’t buy into that. I think people like the truth presented in absurd structures, because we already know reality is fucking ridiculous.
Although, a lot of people seem to suffer from “The Emperor’s New Clothes” vision…

I swear to Cher, if I have to create one more new login to manage my student loan payments, I’m going to jump off a cliff. Since the pandemic started, I’ve had my loans moved between 4 different systems. The level of bullshit, bad tech, and bloated bureaucracy happening within the U.S. Dept. of Education, and their very profitable contract partners, is unfuckingtenable.
The growing fuck ton of student loan debt, high interest rates, and soon-to-be-back credit score reporting, is the pink elephant in our economy; one I hear few people in positions of power discussing at all. Debt and bombs, made in America, baby!
Fingers crossed if you’re also getting a new system login that the old payment plans are still in effect this time around. *fingers crossed*

This summer was the 35th anniversary of Do the Right Thing. Loved the movie as a kid, still do, and I became an instant Rosie Perez fan.
Thinking about Mizz Perez, I decided we deserve a motivational Fuckin-A design that makes complete sense if you love Rosie and have ADHD. This quote is from her character, Gloria, in White Men Can’t Jump, which came out three years after DTRT. Highly recommend both films if you’ve not yet had the pleasure.

Not everyone grew up in a household in which Bibi was a regular topic of discussion, but regardless of political persuasion, what happened when this man addressed Congress was politically obscene. It’s fair to say it accurately reflects the SNAFU-embraced strategy of U.S. domestic and foreign policy, current and historical.

In the original posts, I didn’t have Fuck This/That/It as a trio, which opened up room for a new #36. Totally Fucked should get more love.
The funeral dream sequence from Heathers is worthy of a second design. It’s how everything feels. If you think about it, humans have for centuries written in their diaries that things are totally fucked; everything’s always been a mess.
Yet we persist, totally fucked, taking time to look at absurd designs. :)
